The North Town Veterinary Hospital team has spent 2015 enjoying many community events
Adopted out our first RESCUE DOG ‘BATMAN’
Batman was a super sweet pug cross we rescued late 2014. Early 2015 we were able to adopt him out to a wonderful family who fell in love with him the moment they saw him. The team at North Town had an amazing time being a part of his journey.
Bake Sales
The team took part in quite a few bake sales throughout 2015 in support of Four Paws One Heart raising hundreds of dollars to help the Kitten adoption program take in stray/abandoned kittens.
Cupcake Day supporting the OSPCA
February is always a tasty month filled with delicious cupcakes for sale in support of the OSPCA. We raised over $150 in Cupcake sales!!! We were also honored that one of our team members who entered a contest, within Vetstrategy, WON BEST CUP CAKE in the Country and her talents were also twitted about by the SPCA! National Cupcake day will be taking place again on February 29th 2016 and our team is looking forward to the amazing cupcakes we will get to see (and eat) throughout all of February.
Brampton Animal Services Walk-a-thon supporting the HOPE Fund
Some of our team was able to attend at a booth for the Brampton Animal Services Annual Walk-a-thon. Although the weather was not the best, it did not stop those who attended from having a great time in support of the great cause.
Purina Walk-a-thon for Dog Guides
We had an incredible time taking part again this year in the Purina Walk-a-thon. Every year gets a better turn out and we cannot wait till the 2016 walk, we hope to beat the $300 we raised in 2015!
Four Paws One Heart Yard Sales
Our team loves cleaning out their closets and storage rooms in support of the Four Paws One Heart Annual Yard Sale. This year, we were able to help the program raise OVER $1000! Their biggest success yet!
Donations to SOAR
After the Four Paws Yard Sale, we were able to donate a minivan FULL of extra items to the Southern Ontario Animal Rescue to go towards their yard sale that took place later in the year. Check out their dogs up for adoption: http://www.soardogrescue.ca/
Brampton Animal Services Open House & Adoption Day supporting the HOPE Fund
At the end of September, we had quite a few team members hanging out at Brampton Animal Services open house and Adopt-a-Thon. We love supporting them in their efforts to reach out in the community, inviting people to come to tour their facilities and of course, find homes for all their pets up for adoption! Farley Foundation Month
Lots of goodie-bags were sold during the October Farley Month, we had some amazing gifts helping us raise over $170. Some of our team even put together a bake sale to help with the Fundraiser.
Our very first Silent Auction
We were overwhelmed to have raised over $230 from our first Silent Auction that was put on by the Coordinator of Four Paws One Heart. Proceeds went to both Four Paws One Heart and the OSCAR fund.
Annual visit from Santa for Pet photos
While we were not as busy as last year, the volunteers holding the Santa Photos at North Town had an amazing time with all the pets who showed up for Photos. We raised over $630 for Four Paws One Heart and The OSCAR Fund.
Nail Trim Tuesday’s, Fundraiser for the OSCAR Fund
July 2015, we started our Tuesday OSCAR Nail Trims for $10. Every Tuesday we offer our nail trims at a discount of over 50% off with all proceeds going towards the OSCAR Fund. We are excited that this one initiative has helped raise over $1000 for this amazing program.
Food and Toy Drive for the Honeychurch Family Life Resource Center
Our team was overjoyed to be able drop off OVER 300lbs of donations to the local Women’s Shelter.
We were able to collect some pet items as well during our Food drive to donate to a local pet rescue All Paws. Check them out: https://allpawsrescue.weebly.com/
Volunteering at Ste. Louise Outreach of Peel
Team members got together and volunteered at a local food bank before the Christmas Holiday. Sorting food from local food drives to be placed in their food bank as well as gift donations for parents to pick out for their children. Many of our staff are looking forward to continuing with donating their time helping out this program in 2016.
Four Paws One Heart
North Town Vet Hospital is a proud supporter of Four Paws One Heart, a volunteer based Kitten Adoption program that was started by some of our team members over 6 years ago. We are happy to invite the kittens in the program to our waiting room to be seen by clients and potential adoptees.
The OSCAR Fund
We are excited with the success of this program, since we launched it, we have been able to help with over $4700 of veterinary costs for pets in critical condition. We have the generosity of clients and staff to thank for this success. All funds for this program are through donations and various promotions, even writing a review on Google gets money donated to the Fund. We look forward to the many new fundraisers coming in 2016.
Thank you to our special team members who donate their time to organize the various fundraisers and events and to our AMAZING clients for all the support throughout the year!
We look forward to the many things we have planned for 2016, get ready, it’s going to be GREAT!
