Our state-of-the-art diagnostic tools provide non-invasive insights into internal issues.
North Town Veterinary Hospital offers high-quality digital radiographs (x-rays) to aid in the diagnosis of many different diseases.
At North Town Veterinary Hospital, our veterinarians utilize radiographs (x-rays) to evaluate bone and soft tissues such as the heart, lungs, and abdominal organs for abnormalities. Common problems diagnosed with radiographs are fractured bones, arthritis, hip/elbow dysplasia, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, tumours, gastrointestinal obstructions and much more.
Many patients that will require radiographs, will have them recommended when they are visiting the veterinary hospital for illnesses or lameness. Some patients are able to have radiographs without sedation. However, some patients are not as relaxed or are in pain and require sedation to facilitate proper radiographs. Patients are admitted to the hospital for a short stay to be sedated and radiographed. If you are scheduling an appointment for radiographs, you will likely be asked to fast your pet for 12 hours prior to the appointment.
Radiographs can range in cost, depending on the number of views that are needed and whether or not sedation is needed. We recommend coming in to see one of our veterinarians to create a treatment plan that is tailored to your pet.
